The Honors Program annual calendar shares important deadlines for students and faculty. In addition, the Honors Program plans events to build community among and recognize the achievements of program participants.

August 21, 2026 – GPA Petition Deadline
September 11, 2026 – Deadline for faculty thesis committee petitions for Fall 2026 grads (from faculty/departments)
September 11, 2026 – Honors Roster Deadline (from department)
September 23, 2026 – Final Thesis Committee Submission Deadline for Fall Grads
September 25, 2026 – IRB Orientation
October 2, 2026 – Orientation deadline for Spring Grads
October 23, 2026 – Thesis Committee Roster for Spring Grads (Deadline 1)
December 1, 2026 – Thesis Defense Deadline for Fall 2026 grads (students are responsible for scheduling and completing their defense by this date)
December 6, 2026 – GPA Petition Application Opens for Fall 2027 students
December 9, 2026 – Thesis Submission and Forms Deadline for Fall 2026 graduates. (All corrections must be completed and resubmitted within 48 hours of notification)
January 8, 2027 – Deadline for thesis committee roster petitions for Spring grads (from faculty/department)
January 8, 2027 – GPA Petition Deadline for Fall 2027 students
January 15, 2027 – Department Roster for spring/fall students 2027-2028 (from department)
January 15, 2027 – Thesis Committee Roster Final Deadline for Spring Grads (Deadline 2)
February 19, 2027 – Orientation Deadline for Fall grads 2027
February 22, 2027 – Honors Ceremony Speaker Application Opens via CollegeConnect
March 19, 2027 – Thesis Committee Roster for Fall Grads (Deadline 1)
March 19, 2027 – Honors Ceremony Student Speaker Application Due
March 31, 2027 – Thesis Defense for Spring 2027 grads (students are responsible for scheduling and completing their defense by this date)
April 7, 2027 12:00PM – Thesis Submission and Forms Deadline for Spring 2027 grads at noon (All corrections must be completed and resubmitted within 48 hours of notification)
April 5-9, 2027 – 2027 Honors Ceremony Student Speaker Auditions
April 23, 2027 – Deadline for students to confirm they are not attending the Honors Ceremony via online form
May 2, 2027 – Honors Ceremony
May 10, 2027 – Commencement
Honors Ceremony
Each year, the Honors Ceremony celebrates the outstanding achievement of students who have participated in the Honors Program and completed an honors thesis. Designed for students and their faculty advisors, the event features a student speaker and awards students an Honors medal based on the Honors level they achieved for their thesis.
The 2027 Honors Ceremony will be held on campus on May 2, 2027. More information will be provided here and via email in the spring semester.
