Daniel Dillard, PhD

Associate Dean

As an Associate Dean, Dan Dillard is responsible for overseeing programs providing academic advising and support, working with students and faculty on issues affecting students’ academic performance, and serving as the College liaison to Emory University offices including the Department of Accessibility Services; Counseling and Psychological Services; Student Health Services; and Student Case Management and Intervention Services. As Associate Dean, he also coordinates the faculty Committee on Academic Standards and works closely with campus partners to support students experiencing hardship or crisis.

Dean Dillard came to Emory from the Seattle Colleges where he served for several years as Associate Dean and taught the occasional Comparative Religion course. He holds a PhD in American Religious History (secondary area: Islamic History) from Florida State University where he also taught in the Religion and Humanities departments. He has nearly 20 years of experience in higher education teaching and administration, split equally between academic affairs and student services, and is certified in the advising areas of financial aid, veterans, and international students.
