Graduation

Graduation Requirements & Degree Tracker

Students are responsible for ensuring all graduation requirements, as listed in the Emory College of Arts and Sciences Catalog, are complete by the end of their last term in the College. Students can track their degree progress using Degree Tracker with these instructions.

General Education Requirement (GER) questions can be directed to your OUE Academic Advisor (schedule an appointment through Navigate).

Major and/or minor questions should be directed to the academic department (department contact list).

Graduation Application

Students must apply to graduate in their final semester. Instructions will be sent to your Emory email in the semester in which you plan to graduate.

For students graduating in the current term, you can review graduation application instructions here. Once your application is reviewed, you will receive an email status update. You may also check your status in College Connect in the Graduating Seniors tab.

Application launches and deadlines are semester specific and can be found on the Registrar’s website here.

Degrees typically show on unofficial and official transcripts a few weeks after the end of your graduation term. If proof of pending degree is needed in the interim, a Degree Verification Letter may be requested at this link.

The University Registrar’s website has additional information about transcripts and diplomas.

Your graduation cannot be approved until we have your final Education Abroad transcript. However, it is difficult to predict how long it will take to receive and process a foreign transcript. Your graduation term will be moved to a later semester if your transcript is not received and processed by the University Registrar deadline. Please consult with your Education Abroad advisor for guidance on your specific circumstances.

Degree Tracker is a great tool to visualize your academic progress and determine missing requirements. Here are instructions for pulling your Degree Tracker report.

You may apply to graduate while finishing an Incomplete, but all academic coursework for the Incomplete must be submitted by the end of the term to remain eligible for graduation. Please visit the Emory College Catalog for more information about Incomplete grades.

Emory College policy states that students must complete their degree within eight regular, full-time semesters (catalog). Students seeking a ninth semester of enrollment should request approval through this form.

If your expected graduation date is incorrect and you plan to graduate in fewer than eight regular, full-time semesters, you may request an update through this form.

Maymester is a Summer semester, so students completing requirements in the Summer are not able to graduate in the Spring. Each year, the Summer semester’s graduation/degree conferral date is in August. If proof of pending degree is needed in the interim, a Degree Verification Letter may be requested at this link.
