International Students

All F-1 international students at Emory College of Arts and Sciences have an assigned Emory College academic advisor. Advisors work with international students on course planning, degree progress, and navigating challenges or concerns that may occur.

English Language Learning Programs

The English Language Learning Program (ELLP) supports students who are non-native speakers of English as well as graduate students and faculty who teach these students. We administer the Emory English Assessment (EEA) and offer specialized courses. Tutoring for all students, domestic and international, is offered through the Emory College Writing Center.

International Student Welcome Leaders

The International Student Welcome (ISW) Leaders Program provides student mentors to incoming international first-year and transfer students. ISW Leaders work in pairs to provide support to 5-7 mentees. ISW Leaders contact entering international students in late May to answer questions and direct them to academic and other campus resources. After new students arrive on campus, each ISW Leaders pair provides on-going support and information to their mentees throughout the fall semester, especially during strategic times such as before midterms and pre-registration. Mentors also help plan monthly events for all mentees during the fall. Mentors help to connect their mentees to other students as well as to the wide array of resources on campus, while also helping international students understand the culture of Emory College.
