Phi Beta Kappa


The Emory chapter of Phi Beta Kappa – Gamma of Georgia – recognizes outstanding seniors for their interdisciplinary academic accomplishments in the liberal arts and sciences. The chapter was installed in 1929.

Membership to Phi Beta Kappa is by invitation only and based on academic performance at Emory. Invited students are notified via email during the spring semester and must complete the required registration to become members.

National Chapter

Since its founding in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa has celebrated excellence in the liberal arts and sciences and championed freedom of thought. Eligibility

Eligibility for invitation is determined by members of the Emory Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. Criteria considered for eligibility include completed credit hours, GPA, and other notable forms of academic accomplishments, such as involvement with the National Scholarships & Fellowships Program Office and a transcript that reflects an interdisciplinary program of study.

Dr. Kevin C. Limp Memorial Scholarship

Phi Beta Kappa initiates who plan to attend medical schoolmay apply to the Dr. Kevin C. Limp Memorial Scholarship.Each spring, this scholarship recognizes seniors with an interdisciplinary approach to their pre-medical studies.
