Melissa Tarrant, EdD
An Associate Dean, Melissa Tarrant oversees Academic Success, and co-leads Academic Advising with Dean Dan Dillard. She leads retention efforts in both areas and works with many campus partners including the Provost’s Office, Financial Aid, Counseling and Psychological Services, Student Case Management, and the Registrar’s Office. She is ex officio on the Committee on Academic Standards.
Dean Tarrant previously served as Director of Research at the Georgia Independent College Association in Atlanta. Prior to that, she was the Director of Advising at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, GA. She earned her BA and MA in English from Baylor University, and an Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Alabama. She has over 30 years of higher education experience in academic advising, student support, institutional research and university administration.
